CONFERENCE VENUES
REGISTRATION:
Registration will be held at the Meliá Santo Domingo Hotel in the
Salones del Este. Registration will be open from 2:00 p.m.
to
8:00 p.m.
on Thursday, March 4, 2004, and will continue each day of the
conference from
8:00 a.m.
to
6:00 p.m.
PLENARY
SESSIONS:
The Opening and Closing Plenary sessions will be held in La Fiesta
Theater of the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel.
CONCURRENT
SESSIONS:
Concurrent sessions will be held in the ballrooms of the Meliá
Santo Domingo, Renaissance Jaragua, and InterContinental V Centenario
hotels.
SKILLS-BUILDING
WORKSHOPS AND AFFINITY SESSIONS:
Skills-building workshops and affinity sessions will be offered,
and opportunities to sign up will be available on this Web site and at
registration.
BANKING
Automated teller machines (ATMs) are available at the Meliá Santo
Domingo, Renaissance Jaragua, and InterContinental V Centenario hotels.
BUSINESS
CENTERS
The conference will not provide a dedicated business center
specifically for conference participants. However, business centers with
computer and Internet access, as well as photocopying and fax services,
are available for registered hotel guests at the Meliá Santo Domingo,
Renaissance Jaragua, and InterContinental V Centenario hotels, as well as
at most other hotels in
Santo Domingo.
Operating hours and costs vary by hotel.
HEALTH
LOUNGE
A Health Lounge for conference attendees with healthcare needs
will be provided each day of the conference in the Sol de Oro room
of the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel. The room will be hosted by the Local
Planning Subcommittee and will offer basic medical services. In addition,
separate rooms will be provided at the Meliá Santo Domingo, Renaissance
Jaragua, and InterContinental V Centenario hotels for PLWHA who desire a
place to take medication or rest briefly.
MEDIA CENTER
A
Media
Center
will be
provided at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel. A conference-issued media badge
will be required for admission to the
Media Cente. Advance
submission of a Media Registration Form, with
required documentation, will be required for issuance of a media badge.
SERVICE
FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Rooms scheduled for use for registration and plenary and concurrent
sessions are wheelchair accessible. Every effort will be made to ensure
that rooms assigned for skills-building workshops and affinity sessions
also are wheelchair accessible. However, depending on demand, it may be
necessary to assign a few workshops and sessions to rooms that require
steps for access.
Conference registrants with special accessibility needs (wheelchair
access, sign-language interpretation, etc.) should note these needs in
advance when submitting their Registration and
Housing Forms or Scholarship Application.
SMOKING
POLICY
All rooms used for conference sessions will be designated
nonsmoking. Smoking is allowed in the lobby areas of the Meliá Santo
Domingo, Renaissance Jaragua, and InterContinental V Centenario hotels.
SIMULTANEOUS
INTERPRETATION
All
plenary and concurrent sessions of the conference will have simultaneous
interpretation into Spanish, French, Dutch, and English.
